Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds an Honorary Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is widely recognized for initiating the modern study of the memory of witnesses and the role of children in witnessing. Professor Goodman is the author of numerous research publications as well as numerous grants to her name and is the recipient of a variety of international and national distinctions. She has provided consulting on research and policy to many agencies and departments around the globe. She currently serves as consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She holds memberships in many professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is the founder of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family and Practice Division, American Psychology-Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
